Quarterhorse - Large - Adult - Male - Horse - Bud

Bud is a 9 y/o QH gelding. He came to us in 2006 after he lost his pasturemate. Both he and mate were bitten by a rattlesnake. The filly took the first bite and received most of the venom. Unforunately, she died. Bud has been under evaluation for quite some time. We wanted to make sure the venom didn't affect his nervous system. One issue Bud has is that his feet are small and his body is large. We found he does much better without shoes than he did with them. As long as they are trimmed regualrly, he is fine. Also, because of this, Bud requires a rider of no more than 140 pounds. Bud is ready for a forever home. He is a funny guy, and keeps us laughing with his antics. He loves to play in the water tub, and will get you soaking wet like Shamu at SeaWorld! He is very easy going and laid back. In 2007, we had shows at our rescue and Bud was great! It was the first time for him and aside from a little nickering to his friends, he was a champ. I think he just wanted everyone on the farm to know HE was all prettied up and in the ring! Bud is perfect for someone looking for a laid back horse to take relaxing rides in the sunset :) Despite his size, Bud cannot carry more than 130-140 pounds. Bud's adoption fee is $350. At this time, adoptions are restricted to the state of Florida only and we're not adopting out to Miami-Dade or Broward Counties at this time.
